There is no greater invitation ever given to mankind than the invitation of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Kings have invited men into palaces. Governments have invited citizens into programs. Businesses invite customers to opportunities. But the greatest invitation of all is God inviting sinful mankind to come to His Son for eternal life.
The Bible plainly teaches that every soul will spend eternity somewhere. Heaven is real, and hell is real. The Lake of Fire is real. Eternity is forever. The Lord God, in His mercy and love, provided the only way for man to be saved from eternal punishment — through the Lord Jesus Christ.
The invitation is open today. The door of grace is still open. But one day it will close. That is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2:
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Do not wait for tomorrow. Do not delay. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ while there is still time.
All Have Sinned Before a Holy God
Before a person can understand salvation, he must first understand his condition before God. The Bible teaches that all men are sinners. No person is naturally righteous in the sight of God. Human goodness, religion, morality, kindness, or charitable works cannot remove sin.
The Word of God says in Romans 3:10:
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
Again, Romans 3:23 declares:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Every person has lied, sinned, disobeyed God, or fallen short of His perfect holiness. Sin is not only outward wrongdoing. Sin also includes the sinful thoughts, pride, rebellion, lust, hatred, unbelief, and wickedness found in the heart of man.
God is holy and pure. Heaven is holy. Because of this, sinful man cannot save himself by his own effort. No church membership can wash away sin. No baptism can remove guilt. No amount of money can purchase eternal life.
The problem of sin is universal. Rich and poor alike are sinners. Educated and uneducated alike are sinners. Religious and nonreligious alike are sinners. All stand guilty before the righteous judgment of God.
The Penalty of Sin Is Eternal Death
Sin carries a terrible consequence. The Bible says in Romans 6:23:
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
A wage is something earned. Because of sin, mankind has earned death. This death is more than physical death. It also speaks of eternal separation from God.
The Bible teaches that man is composed of body, soul, and spirit.
- The body returns to the earth when a person dies.
- The spirit returns to God who gave it.
- The soul faces God in judgment.
The first death occurs when the body separates from the soul and spirit. Ecclesiastes 12:7 says:
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
Hebrews 9:27 further declares:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
After death comes judgment. Every soul will stand before God. Those whose sins remain unforgiven will face eternal punishment.
The Bible describes the final judgment in Revelation 20:14-15:
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
The second death refers to eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire forever. This punishment is not temporary. It is eternal.
Revelation 21:8 warns:
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Hell is real. The Lake of Fire is real. God does not desire that people perish, but He is also a righteous Judge. Sin must be punished.
God Provided Salvation Through the Lord Jesus Christ
Though mankind is sinful and deserving of judgment, God demonstrated great love toward sinners. He sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners.
John 3:16 says:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless and holy life. He willingly died on the cross for our sins. His precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. He was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
The Bible says in Romans 5:8:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus Christ took upon Himself the punishment that sinners deserved. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, salvation is now offered freely to all who believe.
Acts 4:12 plainly declares:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
There is only one Savior — the Lord Jesus Christ. Not religion. Not tradition. Not human effort. Only Jesus Christ can save the soul from eternal punishment.
Romans 10:9 says:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
And Romans 10:13 gives this wonderful promise:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Notice the word “whosoever.” That means anyone can come to Christ. No matter your past. No matter your sins. No matter your failures. The Lord Jesus Christ is able to save all who come to Him by faith.
How to Receive the Lord Jesus Christ
Salvation is a free gift, but a person must personally receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. The Bible teaches several important truths:
- Admit that you are a sinner before God.
- Repent and turn from sin.
- Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.
- Receive Him as your Lord and Savior.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
You cannot save yourself through your own goodness. Salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
If you are ready to trust Christ, you may pray sincerely from your heart. The prayer itself does not save — the Lord Jesus Christ saves. But prayer is calling upon Him in faith.
A Simple Sinner’s Prayer
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for me and rose again. I now receive You into my heart as my Savior and Lord. Help me avoid sinning again. Help me obey You from this day forward. When I sinned unintentionally, help me come to Thy throne of grace for cleansing by your blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary. Keep me away from presumptuous sins. Forgive, O Lord, cleanse me. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
If you sincerely trusted the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible says you are saved. Call upon Him now while there is still time.
The Assurance of Salvation
God does not want believers to live in uncertainty. The Bible gives assurance to those who truly believe in Christ.
John 1:12 says:
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
When you receive Christ, you become a child of God.
Again, Jesus promised in John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Notice the words “everlasting life.” Eternal life is forever. The believer has passed from condemnation unto life through the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 5:24 further says:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
What a wonderful promise from the Word of God. Those who trust Christ are forgiven, redeemed, and saved from the second death.
Come to Christ Today
Life is uncertain. Death can come suddenly. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. That is why the Bible repeatedly calls sinners to come to God today.
Isaiah 55:6 says:
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”
The Lord Jesus Christ lovingly invites sinners to come unto Him. He is merciful. He is compassionate. He is willing to save.
Jesus said in John 6:37:
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
Do not reject the invitation of salvation. Do not harden your heart. Do not trust in religion, self-righteousness, or worldly pleasures. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save your soul.
One day every person will stand before God. The question is not whether you are religious. The question is this:
Have you received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior?
If not, come to Him today. Call upon Him now. Trust in His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Believe the gospel. Receive eternal life through Jesus Christ.
The invitation still stands:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13
Be saved today through the Lord Jesus Christ and escape the eternal torments of the Lake of Fire. Now is the accepted time. Now is the day of salvation.

Salvation FAQ:
Frequently Asked Questions About Salvation (Answers According to the King James Bible)
Salvation is the greatest need of every human being. Wealth, education, career, business success, and financial security cannot solve the problem of sin or give eternal life. The Bible teaches that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.
1. What is salvation?
Salvation is God's deliverance of a sinner from the penalty and power of sin through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Bible says:
Romans 6:23 KJV — “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Salvation is not something we earn through good works, religion, money, morality, or human achievement. It is God's gracious gift through Jesus Christ.
2. Do I need to believe that God exists?
Yes. The Bible teaches that God is real and that He is the Creator of all things.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV — “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is…”
God created us, knows us, and loves us. The greatest expression of His love is that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, for sinners.
John 3:16 KJV — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”
3. What is sin?
Sin is disobedience against God's righteous standard.
The Ten Commandments reveal God's moral law. Lying, stealing, coveting, idolatry, adultery, dishonoring parents, and other forms of disobedience demonstrate that humanity has sinned against God.
Romans 3:23 KJV — “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
The important question is not whether we are better than other people. The question is whether we have sinned against a holy God.
The answer is yes.
4. Why must I repent?
Because salvation involves turning to God from sin.
Repentance is more than simply saying, “I'm sorry.” Biblical repentance involves a genuine change of heart and mind concerning sin and our relationship with God.
Jesus warned:
Luke 13:3 KJV — “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
A person must recognize his sinful condition and understand his need for God's mercy.
5. Why did Jesus Christ have to die?
Because sin carries a penalty.
Romans 6:23 KJV — “For the wages of sin is death…”
But God, in His love and mercy, provided the way of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV teaches that “Christ died for our sins” and “was buried, and that he rose again the third day.”
Christ took upon Himself the judgment that sinners deserve so that those who believe in Him may have forgiveness and eternal life.
6. How can I receive salvation?
The Bible teaches that we must believe on Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:31 KJV — “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”
Salvation is not obtained by trusting in ourselves. We cannot save ourselves through good works or religious activities.
We must place our faith in Jesus Christ—trusting Him as the One who died for our sins and rose again.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV — “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works…”
7. Does becoming a Christian mean I will never sin again?
No.
A saved person is not sinless. Christians continue to struggle with sin and temptation. That is the very reason why we need God.
The difference now is that a believer has a new relationship with God and should desire to follow Him, obey His Word, and grow in holiness.
1 John 1:9 KJV — “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Christian life is a journey of spiritual growth. We learn God's Word, grow in faith, resist sin, and seek to live in a manner pleasing to Christ.
8. What happens after I am saved?
A person who trusts Christ should begin a new life of following Him.
The Bible describes believers as new creatures:
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV — “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”
The Christian should study the Bible, pray, worship God, obey His commandments, share the Gospel, and grow in fellowship with other believers.
Salvation is not the end of the Christian life. It is the beginning of a life lived for Christ.
9. Do I need to be baptized to be saved?
Baptism is an important command of Christ, but baptism should not be confused with the means of salvation.
Jesus commanded His disciples to baptize believers:
Matthew 28:19 KJV — “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
Biblical baptism follows faith in Christ and publicly identifies the believer with Him.
The New Testament pattern is to believe the Gospel and then be baptized as an act of obedience. Be saved first, then be baptized; not be baptized to be saved.
10. Should a saved person become part of a local church?
Yes.
The Christian life was never intended to be lived in isolation. Believers should faithfully assemble together for worship, instruction, fellowship, prayer, and service.
Hebrews 10:25 KJV — “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…”
A Christian should seek a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church that faithfully teaches the Word of God.
The church is not merely a building. It is an assembly of believers gathered in the name of Christ.
11. What should I look for in a church?
Look for a church that faithfully teaches the Bible and clearly proclaims Jesus Christ.
A sound church should teach that:
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
- Jesus Christ died for our sins.
- Jesus Christ was buried.
- Jesus Christ rose again bodily from the dead.
- Salvation is by God's grace through faith.
- The Bible is God's Word and is authoritative for faith and practice.
- Christians should live separated from sin and devoted to God.
- Believers should obey Christ and proclaim the Gospel.
Do not choose a church merely because it is popular, entertaining, wealthy, or convenient. Search the Scriptures and determine whether its teaching agrees with God's Word.
12. Does being saved mean life will become easy?
No.
Following Christ does not guarantee a trouble-free life.
Christians may experience rejection, persecution, suffering, temptation, disappointment, and hardship. Jesus Himself warned His followers about the difficulties they would face.
But God promises His presence and faithfulness.
Hebrews 13:5 KJV — “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
The Christian's hope is not that this present world will always be comfortable. Our hope is in God and in the promises of His Word. Our hope is in the world to come - a godly heritage, an estate, and a life of eternity. This present life may not be easy but it makes your record beautiful unto the day of judgment.
13. Can money, good works, or religious activities save me?
No.
Money cannot purchase salvation. Good works cannot erase sin. Religious ceremonies cannot substitute for faith in Christ.
The Bible is clear:
Titus 3:5 KJV — “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”
Good works are important in the Christian life, but they are the fruit of salvation, not the price of salvation.
We do not do good works in order to purchase eternal life. We serve God because He has graciously saved us.
14. Why is salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ?
Salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ because salvation is God’s gift of grace, not something that sinful man can earn through his own works or righteousness. No human being can perfectly meet God’s standard of righteousness, because “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV).
If salvation could be earned by good works, human beings could boast about what they had accomplished. But God designed salvation so that all glory belongs to Him. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV).
Our good works cannot make us righteous before a holy God. Our righteousness is insufficient; we need the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. Therefore, salvation is received by believing in Jesus Christ and trusting Him—not by trusting in our own goodness, religion, works, or merit.
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ so that no man can boast and all glory may belong to God. Salvation is the work of God, not ours.
15. What is the most important decision I can make?
The most important decision is what you will do with Jesus Christ. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and you will be saved. After you are saved, spend your life serving God. It will give you a sense of purpose in life.
You can spend your life pursuing education, career, business, wealth, possessions, recognition, and success—but none of these can give you eternal life. But it is not wrong pursuing these things. You better align these things to serving the LORD God.
Jesus asked:
Mark 8:36 KJV — “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
The Gospel calls every sinner to repent and believe on Jesus Christ. This is the good news.
A Simple Summary of the Gospel (the Good News)
God created you.
You have sinned against God.
Your sin has a penalty.
But, Jesus Christ came and died for sinners.
Jesus Christ rose again from the dead.
And God offers salvation by His grace through Jesus Christ.
You must repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Then follow Him in obedience as His child.
The greatest question in life is not, “How much money do I have?” or “How successful am I?”
It is:
“Am I right with God?”
Jesus Christ is the answer to humanity's deepest need.
John 14:6 KJV — “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Have You Trusted Jesus Christ?
If you have never personally trusted Jesus Christ for salvation, do not put off the matter.
Recognize your sin. Turn to God in repentance. Believe the Gospel. Put your faith in Jesus Christ—not in your goodness, religion, baptism, church membership, money, or works.
Salvation is God's gracious gift through Jesus Christ.
And when God saves a sinner, He does not merely give that person a better life on earth. He gives the believer the hope of eternal life with Him.
Jesus Christ is not merely a part of life. He is the foundation of life, the Savior of sinners, and the only hope of eternal salvation. No other name, but Jesus Christ.
